I need to replace my blown-out mufflers soon. I believe I will replace them with FlowMaster Delta Flow 50 Series for 2.5" true duel exhaust applications. I would like to minimize interior resonance while still having a nice mellow rumble. Does anyone have any recommendations for the mufflers? I am not completely sold on Flowmasters and will take other recommendations...
I have the Aero-Chambered mufflers from Hooker. I like them. I have seen Chevy High Performance was using them in their mag on some test motors. They are alittle loud, but have a good sound. You can see the spec sheet at their web site. I think they were $59 ec.

I am looking at the Hookers also. Paul did you get offset to offset or offset to center?
I have the 50 series Delta Flows. I have a balance tube on it and get a slight resonance but it is acceptable. Would not change a thing. Not to loud but load enough.
How is the interior resonance on the Aero-Chambered mufflers from Hooker? I like the sound, but I can't tolerate the entire car rattling when I hit certain RPM ranges.
I have those on my '73. You want badbehind sound - check. You want awesome growling on WOT - check. You want resonance all the time - check. My Flowmasters resonate right in the cruise range from about 1500 - 2200 RPMS. So, they're great on the freeway and at idle, but they are pretty loud. But, a good kind of loud :)
That said -- I wouldn't have it any other way.
VolVette,
I have true dual 2.5" exhaust with H-pipe and Flowmaster DeltaFlow 50's. I think they sound great and I've had lots of compliments since I installed them. A little bit of noise inside the car, but nothing that I can't live with. Resonance was my main concern too. I think I made the right choice for mufflers. I've heard that the notch-back vettes have a little more resonance issue than the bubble back ones though.
VolVette, the highest flowing mufflers are the Hooker Aero chamber and Maximum Flow versions. My cousin owns a high end exhaust shop and has the flow charts that show how good these mufflers are. The Borla XR1 race mufflers are also great but might be too loud for some areas.

I honestly do not know what type of Flowmaster I have and I cannot find a receipt varifying what they are. The resonance I have now with a blown muffler is absolutely unbearable because it rattles everything and my hearing is something I'd like to keep. How can I figure out what type of muffler I have?
I had Magna Flows, and they sounded awesome!!! I was also using Hooker Headers, and 2.5" aluminized pipes. They did not resonate like Flow Masters. I have Flow Masters on my wife's 2000 Mustang, and they have an aggravating sound at 80mph.
If you have the Flowmasters on now, then there should be a part # etched into the muffler. Mine was next to the outlet pipe. If you don't have FM's, then I'm not sure what to tell you.
