IS it the same number as the 67? Some people are telling me the 67 is 3900579 and others say its the 696 for both years. I'm looking for a used one for my 67.

The application I pasted above was from the 1972 parts book and I see no mention of this hub fitting a 67. The part number for the 1967 hub was 3900579 as described in your other thread. This number was the original part number when the 1967 cars came out, I just checked it in an original 1966 very (very) late parts book I have.

Now thsi is not to say one did not replace the other one. I'd have to look at a 68 or 69 parts book or in my old history books to know for sure. What I do know is the two hubs did carry a different part number and I also think the part number cast in the two were different as well.

If the hubs were the same, it would have been 1967-1968. I seriously doubt that the 1969 and later hubs would have worked. If people have the 1967 and 1968 AIMs it should be easy to compare part numbers.

The 1969-75 hub for the standard (non-adjustable) column was 3937896. BTW you have a incorrect digit in your hub callout. It is definately ....896 NOT ....696.

The other alternative would be to post this question on the NCRS board. Joe Lucia over at that website has a lot of information on what parts replaced or superceded other parts.
