I took out all the screws holding it in place and something is still holding it back. Do I have to remove the speedo and tach with it? If so, what do I need to do? Also I have the dash pad ready to come out ( it moves freely) but cant maneuver it to get it out, its held in by the pillar. Any tips there? Its a 74

You will have to remove the pillar to get the dash out.
If you are taking out the dash you might as well let the speedo and tach come with it. If not, there are some more screws to get at. There is a cross over bar at the top of the two which also has to be removed, but it is very hard to get at.
The dash pad will only come out a little way with the speedo and tach cables connected, but it could be enough to get your hand behind it and disconnect the cables.
The dash harness will also be clipped to the rear of the panel.
Go slowly and don't try to force it. You can break the substrate of the pad.
Do you have the assembly instruction manual (AIM)? It helps, but it's not a How To.
