Default Reverse lockout T56

What are you guys doing for this. Are you just pushing through it or are you wiring it up. I have read anything from a toggle switch to the brake switch to just removing the lockout and hoping to never grind 5th gear.

You can remove it. There use to be a company that made a plate. It's just a solenoid with a plunger that lets the shift move all the way over. Trust me you will be missing more 1st to 2nd gears.

It would be easy to remove and just make a small plate or one guy used a Dorman plug. I just don't now how easy it is to go into reverse when shifting into 5th. I may need it for clearance also. It looks real tight up there.

On a T-56 you will never be slamming into 5th. That would be about 150 mph at high rpms. 5th slides right in, reverse is hard over and up. 6th is a pain.

I wired the reverse lockout to my brake light switch. I can only go into reverse while holding the brake pedal. Works for me.
