Date code help
I have a corvette 327, 300hp intake i believe came from a 64 vette. I know this is C3 forum, but you guys have helped me before, so... The date code is G144, and under the casting number 3844459, it says "GM 1" can anyone translate this for me.

For the 1970's
G = July
14 = fourteenth day of the month
4 = 1974
I believe the date system was the same in the sixties. So the last four would stand for 1964.
July 14, 1964 would be one of the last units made that year or one of the first for 1965. My Vette was one of the last made for 1973 and it has an engine block date of July 9,1973.
