Default Help with HEI wires for 71BB

I got my new Holley and new HEI dist installed and it sounds great! Now I am going to go through the Timing Sticky and get all that right. But My first problem before I can do that is I have to get a set of new plug wires, The ones that were on it with points wont fit the HEI cap and a extra set I had laying around for HEI have 90* boots on the plug end that wont fit down in the stock exhaust manifolds, I have them jammed and crammed in there just to start it. I really hope this is as simple as telling the guy at Auto Zone I need wires for a 76 chevy pick-up truck or something like that and get something with the long straight boots on the plug end and the HEI type end for the cap end and be a right length wires so they look nice and neat running through the stock holders on the valve covers. I had red wires on it and you guys told me they looked like crap and it looks even worse now with these yellow ones. So.. I need correct end/boots for HEI and stock manifolds, correct length to fit neatly and black in color. Does anybody know what kind of vehicle application to give them at AZ, PeP-Boys, O'riely.. that will get me all that? Thanks!

I always buy cut to fit. It's not that hard to crimp ends. That way you can route them anyway you want.

Maybe you can help me with another detail.. If you have a tach drive dist, is your vac advance in front of the right side wire bracket or behind it? Looking down it would be like 2 o'clock or 4' o'clock.. I think I read here that the gear/cable needs to be going towards the driver side some and not straight back toward the firewall?

I use Accel HEI wires from Pep Boys or Autozone, O'Reillys all have them too. But, they should have stock wires too.

.. After trying two different ready-made sets (both didn't fit correctly), I finally bought myself a cut-to-fit set from MSD (complete kit with a crimber) and the fit now is superb, cutting and crimping were easy and I was able to finish the whole set in one hour or so.

I bought a aftermarket HEI with tach drive and the gear/cable points to 3 o'clock. I am not using any of the factory wire brackets
