Default Wiring question

I'm looking at the back of my starter solenoid and have a yellow wire and a purple wire to attach. Which goes where? I think the purple wire goes on the engine side of the red power wire and the yellow wire goes on the other side [or toward the passenger side] of the red power wire. Am I correct?

Yes, that is correct.
The purple wire comes from the ignition switch to bring power to the solenoid to activate the starter.
The yellow wire goes to the outboard side to bring 12 volts to the coil at start up.
