Has anyone ever put the MSD 6AL up under the dash on the passenger side of a '69 427/435?
I am concerned about heat. I put foil insulation down before my new carpeting which seems to help quite a bit. I've driven on really hot days in the summer and it's not bad.
I'm trying to keep a "clean classic look" under the hood but don't want to mess the module up.
Thanks
Here's an alternative location that worked well for me:
Thats where I installed my MSD box. I've even got it positioned more outboard and up towards the fender top. You have to look hard to see it. Plus it gets the cooling from the fender vent. About 8 years now with many miles. No problems.

on my '68 I have MSD 6T there + soft touch rev control + rotary add-on control.

That's exactly where I installed mine on my '69 427/435. It works well. Summit sells an installation kit hat makes it a snap. Removing the panel is pretty easy as well.
I see you kept the stainless braided wires. Did you re-sleeve new MSD wires or are these early generation noise suppression wires? I like the look of the vintage wrapped wires.

Instructions say to locate where it will get PLENTY of cool air over the box cause it runs hot. On my 1970 , my MSD6 box sits IN FRONT OF the radiator down on the valance (fastened in place) . The MSD6 I got was the waterproof model which is internally coated / totally sealed to prevent moisture from getting inside and vibration proof . Of course you need to extend the wires from this location back to the Distributor but thats no problem . Instructions also say to mount the Box as far away as possible from the radio so interference is eliminated. I ran the wires very neatly and it does not detract from a clean appearance. The MSD really made a difference on mine thru much hotter spark, better idling, no foul plugs , and crisper performance.
