I had a Collectors Edition with 5000 miles on it for about a week in Chi-Town, got it in trade from the original owner who said he ordered it with them. It had original 3.07's, I was told it was a CE option by the local dealer and the Corvette Clinic.
The pic of me with no helmet on the Ducati was on the road in front of the cabin, low speed but very curvy. Sad thing is that was 2yrs ago and it's the last time I had it out. :cry :cry
This whole school/career change thing sure bites into my "toy" enjoyment time!!
Sorry "Injected" but the 82 came with a 2.72 rear with standard wheels and a 2.87 with aluminum wheels....no other choices. Now in 1980 3.07 was the only rear available. In 1981 auto had a 2.87, manual 2.72, late production only came with 2.72.
BTW I spent a couple of days at Ducati of North America Headquarters on a project and I have to tell ya they had some fine bikes in their lobby!!
I think GQ is right, 2.87's on mine is what it said on a webpage I was looking at, with aluminum wheels. I thought that was right, just wanted to make sure.
I'll let you guys who know the later year C3's better than myself make the call, but what I ran across with the CE is that the build sheet listed it was ordered with 3.07's, the dealer verified it was ordered that way and the CC in Chi-town who said it was an option. Maybe it was a dealer installed option, but then why would it have been on the build sheet?
Oh well, like I said you guys can figure it out. After the C3's lost the metal bumpers I cannot be held responsible :D :D
