Connecting Rod question
Can anyone confirm that the stock GM 1976 L82 350SBC connecting rods are forged? I know the crank is..

TIA

Yes. They are also heat treated, shot peened and magnafluxed. The L82 also had forged flat top pistons and a forged crank. All they need to be a real HP motor are some good 64 CC heads and a better cam.

I believe that all mid 70's Corvettes, whether L82 or L48, were built with Chevy's pink rods. These were all forged

Thanks for the confirmation guys!!
So I'll presume an occasional 100 shot of NOS isn't an issue then (rod wise).
Rods were the only thing I was concerned with.

I don't think they were all pink rods. I would polish the beams, add strong rod bolts and resize the big end. That should be more than enough. Balanced of course.

What about '74 L82 Vettes, did they have forged internals as well?

All the connecting rods are forged, not sure about the crank.
