Just picked up a 79 that has the dash out and wiring/ductwork in a semi-messy state.
1. Does anyone have step by step pics of their reassembly. I have the AIM and it is very helpful but pics will make it real easy.
2. Is there a way to bypass all the interior wiring (Key switch etc) to test if the car will crank over or run? I'd like to do it from the engine compartment and not from underneath since it is still on the trailer with flat tires. I know, I know... I'm lazy. Don't flame me. I'll jack it up if I have to.. I'm quite sure the battery cables are connected properly up to the starter.
Run a jumper wire from the alternator bat terminal to the HEI bat terminal and jump a screwdriver across the starter solenoid. It should turn over and start if it has fuel.
