I know some of you guys have moved up to a 1/2" fuel supply line to quench the thirst of big cube motors. Did you drill out the stock 3/8" line on the fuel sending unit, or weld in a new AN -8 fitting directly on the tank? If the later, how did you close off the original 3/8" pick up tube on the sending unit? Same basic issue/question for the return line. I have a BB set up now with the std 1/4" return. I plan to buy a new tank and then build it up.
You can do it several ways. Some folks just remove the original pickup tube and after enlarging hole..they install a -8 bung fitting into the original fuel sending unit. No welding required...or you could just weld a steel bung in same spot.
I added a fuel sump to mine and ran 2 -10's out of it to a *Y* fitting and then into the pump, then -10 to the regulator. I ran a -8 return back to the top of the tank with a bung fitting.
My stock outlet in fuel sending unit was sealed off with a rubber cap and a clamp. Been that way for years....but someday I'll just weld it solid to eliminate a potential leak.
