Default Heater hose fitting elbows source?

Anyone know a good source for right angle heater hose fittings for 3/4 and 5/8 hose that are not plastic?

I'm looking for hose barbed right angle metal fittings?

I can get plastic ones at the local auto parts store, but not metal. Just not sure of the durability of the plastic ones over time. Don't want to overheat the LS1 after this much freakin' work.

Plastic
Gates 28624 5/8 elbow
Gates 28625 3/4 elbow

Metal

Are you trying to make up the water pump connection to your LS swap?

I wound up making my own elbows out of brass fittings.

If that is not what you are wanting to do you might check with Jags That Run for what you are looking for. You might have to call them and tell them what you are looking for.

No, these would be inline down at the heater core input area to clear the exhaust area, and not kink the hose as they turn upward.

I also need to put one in on the topside where the vacuum valve turns down towards the heater core. Just trying to keep clear of the exhaust.

Just don't like the idea of plastic and they'll be slinging the additional weight of the brass shut off valves I have inline with the heater hoses.

Yes Sir: I used PEX brass W/ barbs water pipe fittings. 1 inch for the 3/4" & 3/4 inch for the 5/8 " sizes. You can buy them @ Lowes or Westlake Hardware. Running these for the last year, No Problems. Have a great one. Gene

Interesting. I saw these at the Home Depot today and was advised against them by the store plumber. Said they didnt have enough barb material to grab.

I'll give these a shot.

I did find some 3/4 and 5/8 Stainless elbows online this afternoon, but for 3 fittings, it was $100.00!!!

If I am understanding what you need correctly, have you considered just picking up molded heater hoses?
The hoses I am using have a 90 about 6" from one end, and are otherwise just straight hose.

Yes Sir; I put stainless steel clamps on them, barb about the same depth, as the clamp. I also used the Pex valves on the heater shut offs. My understanding is the radiator only has Approx. 15 Lbs. the plumbing system has minimum Average of 60 Lbs to 225 Lbs. Max. I know there smarter guys on here than me, maybe they will give you some better answers. Have a great one. Gene

If that was barbed on both sides, and was 5/8 or 3/4, it would be a winner

Also the $66 a piece is a deal killer.

All 68-82 air conditioned Vettes used heater hoses that were molded. One hose has 90 degree bends molded in both ends of the hose, and one just has a 90 on one end. The factory needed the 90's to connect to the core without kinking, too. These hose sets are available from any of the Vette vendors for about $45 for the pair.
