What should I expect to pay
Hey all,
When I FINALLY have a job, my house done and some savings what would/should/could I expect to pay for a 68-72 in decent condition
I would like to get one with a good motor, trans, and suspension but in need of body work and interior work. a convertible would be nice but it all depends on the cost.
Thanks for any input etc. When I am ready you will all see me shouting from the rooftops! :D
If you are lucky - you can get a running and driving 68 - 72 Vette Convertible for $6000 - $8000. I paid for my 68 Vette Convertible $6000 + $800 shipping (in 2001). The car had a good engine and transmission, but the rest of the car needed some work... So far I have close to $30000 in the car and I am still not finished..... However - my cost is so high because I don't do the bodywork and the majority of the expencive mechanical work myself. I only do electrical, interior and a few minor mechanical tasks myself. I also only added "Top of the Line" aftermarket equipment which didn't help my total cost!!!
HI ALL
remember it can coast much more to do the body corectly then to do the drivetrain. So get some good estimates befor you buy .Good luck  :chevy
I ran across a base model 69 vert a few months ago for 10K. They are out there, just takes alot of looking. The one I saw just needed a paint job and a bit of interior work. I also came with the hardtop. Good luck in your search.
