I have flowtech headers and redhots mufflers (mufflers in stock location). The car sounds great from the outside, but inside it sounds like there is a exhaust leak. I have looked and several shops have looked and can find none. The shops tell me that glass packs in stock locations just sound that way.
Is this true? would it help to move them to the original converter location?
I do not believe there is a leak, just exhaust noise that sounds that way. What I am wondering is if the story that glass packs so far back (8" of tailpipe) cause the sound. If this was true, moving the mufflers forward in front of axle like most cars would change noise.
maybe sounds like a leak is not a good description. It sounds like air moving thorough a pipe and makes me think of a leak. It is not there at idle, only when moving. Seems to come from the very back of the tail pipe making me wonder if the shops are right. Just hate to spend hundreds on a R&R guess
