Hey I am thinking of putting a new motor in my 81 but not until next winter. Car os stock except for dual exhaust. Just wondering if any one has used the hypertech chip from corvette central and if it is any good???
Jarred, you should search the forum. I know that this subject has been discussed time after time. I also wanted to add this chip to my 81 and from what i found in my search is that no one really recommends it . i guess not enough bang for the buck. i see that you already have true dual exhaust. I recommend maybe you change the gear in the diff. i changed mine to a 3:54 and big improvement.
I didn't think there was enough computer there to "chip." The only thing the computer controls on an '81 is the carb as I recall. I would think you would have better results be ridding of the computer system all together.

Carb, Distributer advance and converter lockup. but I agree, that is why I am swapping my carb and dist. And adding a B&M lock up controller.
