Edelbrock 60739 heads
Just bought a pair of these today, they are the 70cc version of the performer rpm range heads. I studied the flow bench figures supplied by Edelbrock and noticed that they flow better than the 64cc version. I am guessing that they have less valve shrouding by having a larger combustion chamber? Does anybody have these heads? At the price they were offered I could not refuse, they are brand new fully assembled ones.

Not a bad set of heads. Should work well on a 350-383 size engine. Certainly there's better, but there's always something bigger/better. These would support ~500 hp if that is your goal.

No doubt there are better heads around but the price of these makes them very attractive and they are US made and assembled so I can trust the quality. I was thinking of running a +3.5 cc Probe dome piston which will bring the comp ratio up to where I want it.

I have a Isky 270 mega cam to put in it, fairly short duration with a .465 lift. I am wanting a engine that will pull form 1500/2000 rpm, I'm not really a big rpm spinner so if it tops out at 5000 that's fine by me. the Edelbrock heads with 185cc runners should give a good low rpm response and retain a decent idle vacuum.
