If anyone is thinking of this upgrade from their current LS4/LS5 style setup and want any feedback from me, feel free to respond here. Several years ago when I was thinking of this mod, posters here were very helpful. Time to pay it forward.
Performance wise it is a no brainer if you want max power under the stock hood (I used a 496 shortblock). With mild cam car is putting 400-425 rwhp to the wheels. Plenty imo for a street car with stock suspension. For comparison a stock LS5 is good for 275-285 rwhp. Stock LS6 around 340 rwhp.
I am in the process of getting all of the pieces needed to make my LS4 into a combination LS5. Thanks in part to one specific member and all of the great info here on the forum. Should be very good on the street and be able to keep the TQ down low where it should be for a street engine.
why are you taking the LS6 intake off?
going back to qjet? if so i am hoping that you are at least using the L36 aluminum intake instead of the LS5 cast iron one. that thing is heavy. when i got my 454 it had the torker 2 and a holley.
i took off the torker under advice from the forum and used the LS6. never had a chance to dyno it yet.
