rbat. i believe that it will not work. the problem being that the lower drive pulley mounted on the balancer will hit the frame cross member i ran into this problem trying similar pullys on my big block... i wish i would have taken pics of my build.... but i did it before i was a forum member... i ended up with the stock bbc set up after dumping a ton of money and time trying to get other stuff to work.. if i could have done the hole bbc conversion again... i would have bought the correct pulley and bracket kit for your year car.. just my thoughts....... Default BB brackets/pulleys

did you buy used or new?
I tried putting together a parts list of aftermarket (ecklers etc.) but my concern was that I was missing something, also that I would be throwing belts. do you have part numbers or a list needed?
thanks

The factory big block pullys are cut deeperthan small block pulleys and the belt sets in ther farther so they don't throw belts. when i dynoed my 496 it made shy of 800hp at 6400 rpm and thats spinin for a big block. i had no problem with belts.

Not true, all LT-1's have special deep groove pulley sets and non airconditioned small blocks have deep groove water pump/crank pulleys on them.
