Im swapping out my heads and noticed some temp sensors on each head. Problem is they don't fit my new head (Too small) Casting # are the heads are the same though...????
The temp sensor in the drivers side head is for the temp gauge, the one on the pass side is the temp switch for the Aux fan on the radiator. You can runwithout either one of them, but I wouldn't. You need a new sensor to fit the head that has the same resiatance curve. Do some searching, there are other threads on them.
A simple fix would be to talk to someone who know what pipe thread is on the sender & fan switch and in the head. Then buy a brass adapter to mate both ends, this should be cheaper than a new parts and some adapter are not that tall.
Ok so I got the adaptor on the passenger side and the temp sensor on. Problem is the drivers side head has a plug in it. For the life of me I cant get it out.
Looks like I have to reroute this one some how. Any recommendations?
Anyway I can tap into another sensor?
Thanks guys for the help. I should have the car running today and will post pictures.
