Engine guys help! No oil pressure!

Go to Autozone and rent a distributor priming tool. There are passages the distributor housing closes off that will allow the oil to just run out into the block using only the shaft. You won't get oil pressure with those passages open. The priming tool seals them off. Resistance on the drill is probably showing your pump is working. Sending unit is probably just bad. It is cheaper and easier to just change out the sending unit and start it to check oil pressure than to remove the pan and go through all the hastle you have gone through. Running it for 10 or 15 seconds to check for oil pressure won't hurt anything. Leave the bearing caps alone. You didn't hurt anything with two starts and a total of less than 1 minute run time in neutral.

Guess Ill chime in, Pull the oil cap to see if fresh oil is present in the valve cover. After a 3 week shut down most of the oil would be in the pan, If any is getting up top you should be able to tell.Also a plugged filter is possible if its one of those POS fram HP filters. Im with everyone else,move that manual gauge to the port beside the distributor. Trash could be blocking the other guage you have. I would use new line,gauge,and fittings for the test gauge.
