Default changing the power window switch

just a heads up for anyone that plans to replace a power window switch in the center console (at least in my '82) you are not gonna be able to just unscrew the side carpet and easily remove the old switch and replace it with the new one. Your most likely gonna have to lift up the whole center console to get to the back screw. What i thought was gonna be a 20 minute job turned out to be MUCH longer. BUT on another note, I did it up here at school where my tools are limited if you can get a real small ratchet behind the switch and get the back bolt you might be able to slide it out... just a friendly fyi cause the small project killed my saturday afternoon

There are so many things on these cars that I wish the engineers thought more about. Like changing the brake booster

It is very tight.I remove the seat cushion, then 2 screws holding carpet, rotate carpet down, then 2 screws holding the side of console shifter plate, this gives you a little flex room, then "just loosen" rear screw on switch with a 9/32 points wrench, then remove the front screw, using the still attached wires lower front of switch and slide the switch forward and out.

How about R&R of the windshield washer tank? That was an 'oops' from the engineers.

speaking of my washer tank, it leaks and I cant for the life of me figure out where, but when i put fluid it, it nearly immediately leaks out somewhere around the bottom...any ideas?
