Maybe you can track down your buddy for some help. Sounds like a good idea to check line pressure. Seems like if it was a gasket, or a hole missing in the gasket, that temperature wouldn't make a difference. Any prior problems we need to know about?

The only prior problem I had was that is seemed to shift too soft lately. It's the original transmission with about 85,000 miles on it. I put a ZZ4 crate motor in the car and now I wanted to freshen up the tranny. So, my buddy and I rebuilt it, put in a Transgo shift kit, and a high stall lockup torque converter. The tranny looked really good on the inside. Clutches weren't worn too bad at all. The only thing we found was a broken 1-2 accumulator spring, which we assumed was causing the soft shift. Now that I'm thinking about it, after we put the shift kit in it, I was expecting a much firmer shift and it's not. It shifts better than before, but not what I expected. Wonder if that is related?
