Please take a look at the pics at the attached link. I can't find a listing for these heads anywhere. I can only 2 markings on them. Any help anyone can give is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

TFS Trick Flow Specialties cyliner heads. They started off well selling Ford SB heads, then did 'nt fully develop their Chevy offerrings which sold maily through Summit Racing. Summit bought Trick Flow and they have abandoned those line of heads. Valvetrain geometry was off (only 2 sets ever done out of the shop I do work on had to have guideplates cut and realigned/welded for proper rocker arm contact with valve stems.)

The heads flow some decent numbers its just the fact that special pistons are required to make decent valve lifts with them. They are a half finished project that if done properly will make some HP. Newer 23degree port designs will equal or exceed the flow figures you can make with these heads without all the geometry headaches.

What is the number on the top of the piston? L2258? L2238? L2253?

Stock replacement .030 over forged 350 L82 pistons.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TR...0&autoview=sku
The heads are Trick Flow Twisted Wedge heads. Probably 195 CC. 64 CC chambers. Good heads if the vavetrain geometry is set up right and good guides installed. I think you needed a special offset intake rocker and guide plates for them to set them up right. They are running something like a 13 degree intake valve and flow really well.

Edit:Yep! Here is a link to the special rockers. http://www.compperformancegroupstore...Code=ProMagnum
These heads work with no piston modifications with cams with under .500 lift and 236 duration or thereabout. I don't remember exactly.

I bought a '70 from a guy in wisconson. The motor came with a matching # block, so i thought that i would rebuld the motor and keep it # matching. but the only thing that is original is the block. So the options are a) get a small block crate engine or b)go big block. I have a 71 with small block auto-- its ok for tooling around, but i'm rebulding the 70 to drive on the edge. That means going to the track and do both straight and twisties. What do you think would be the way to go, motor-wise? Any info you have would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
