I'm looking to reconnect the backup lights to the new transmission, which has a simple switch internal to the transmission which closes when shifted into reverse.
Where is this harness routed, and would it be easier to hook the switch up further back in the harness, or does it route to the fusebox?
The backup light harness comes out under the hood in a 2 prong connector with pink and green wires, I believe.
There is a 2 blade connector and it comes through the firewall next to the throttle cable. Then a 2' long pig tail comes up from the trannie and connects to it. I assume you have a manual trannie, correct?
I agree with the above posts but you mention an "internal" switch , the 4 speed rev. switch is mounted outside,if you are referring to a switch mounted on top of shift shaft that is a switch for the TCS.
The automatic trans rev light switch is mounted on your shifter internal in the neutral safety switch.
