Default 11.4 Second Smallblock C3

Hi guys,

Im looking at a Holden Premier (Australian Camaro made by GMH) which has made 11.4 second passes with a 9" live rear and a 4 speed. The engine has BOWTIE heads. What are these and how good are they?
Im just curious ..it doesnt matter anyway...if the car makes 11.4 it has POWER. Im thinking of throwing the engine and trans into my vette and selling the rolling chassis. Should be good fun.

That should be interesting. Will the motor be streetable? Need specs on the engine. In my opinion, I think I would just keep the race car and have fun with it. Race cars (Vintage) are very cool right now in the US. Post some pics of the car if you can.

Oh yeh, you guys are getting all the cool GM cars. The new Holden and that LS-1 El Camino.

How much does the Camaro weigh? If it's running 11.4 seconds with a 3300lbs vehicle that engine's putting out some nice power. If it's 11.4 seconds with a gutted drag car weighing in at 2300lbs then it's not so much the engine as the power/weight ratio.

Another thing to consider is that the Camaro has a 9" rear end, meaning it's a lot stronger than a stock Corvette rear end. Throwing the engine and tranny into your 'Vette and shifting that 4 speed down the 1320....your rear end won't last very long.

All in all it is something worth looking into, but I would examine every aspect and then decide how feasible it really is. Good Luck.

P.S. I hope you get the Camaro :)
