Th350 vs Th400 power difference

I am wondering about the power lost going from a TH350 to TH400. Some say no difference... others say you will loose .1-.2ths in the quarter?
Anybody have any experience with this?
A friend of mine said I should have gotten a powerglide. Just as strong and would still perform better than the TH350 and TH400

In a high HP car the Powerglide is by far and away the quickest trans out there, but not in stock form and probaly not the best for street performance either.
The 400 does take more power to run but is much stronger, there is a difference in gear ratios in both 400 and 350 that one or the other may help or slow your car depending on your cars needs. They both are very good anyway you look at it on the street.
From what i can remember we installed thicker intermediate sprag race, a low roller clutch assembly out of a 700 R4 it was thicker . Machined the high gear drum for 5 forward clutches and drilled holes between all the splines in the drum to allow the hot oil to escape. Also installed a b&M shift kit.
But the do make a TRACK only TH350 that can hold cars in the 10s and 9s... however the sprag can not take the heat of street driving.
