I am upgrading a stock 77 L82,already have installed a set of Hooker headers. Would like to know the stock cam specs and head specs. Dont want to do anything over the top, just something with a little lummpy idle and increased perf. I faild to sy that I plan to change intake but stay with Qjet.
Thanks I thought that was the case but wanted to be sure.Would the Comp 268H be a good cam choice and would I need to change springs or would there be any clearance issues
I have the comp cams 268 cam in my 79 and it seems to work well with my 350. It gives it a little lope. Just make sure to buy the comp cams oil additive when you install the camshaft. You can find it on ecklers.

I put one of these Comp 268H cams in a 76 Corvette L48 for a friend, along with an Edelbrock dual plane and headers. It was still a turd off the line. It was lame. Just more proof the L48 is a smog engine. Unless you change the heads (and maybe the pistons) there is no sense in spending money on cams, intakes, carbs and headers for an L48.
