383 vs 350?

383 vs 350?
Is the only BASIC difference in a 383 vs a 350 the crank (longer stroke)?? And associated clearance issues...

.030 overbore on the 350, in addition to the stroke increase.

Pistons will be different also. The same rods can be used. Clearance must be checked. I had to do a fair amount of grinding on a 350 block I had.

The stock rods can be used, but using the original rods causes the piston to push on the cylinder wall much more than it previously had.
I'm looking to build me a stroker down the road one day and then find a body to match.

The biggest difference is the cylinder dwell time at TDC. This factor in its self creates more torque. Not to say this longer dwell time produces all the new found torque as there are quite a few other factors that contribute to it. On a scale I would say this is one of the largest reasons.
