It looks like I have a pretty healthy fuel leak on an aftermarket part.. I have a metal fuel line going from the carb down with a fuel pressure gauge, and its leaking from the carb mount area. It came with two plastic washers but those dont appear to seal at all - has anyone run into this issue and what did you do to resolve it? Ive tried quite a few little things to no avail. Did you try any other types of crush style washers.. or any other solution?
what do you mean by the carb mount area? Do you mean the fitting that screws into the carb? What manufacturer carb are you using?
oops, sorry got distracted while posting.. haha.
Its leaking from the area of the two washers, not the fitting itself or from the carb. It doesnt seem to be too well designed. It s going on an edelbrock carb.
I was working on another forum members car with that style Banjo fitting. It leaked also. I ended up getting some steel washers designed for Banjo fittings. It worked but took quite a bit to get it to seal correctly. Make sure there are no burrs or anything in the way for a good seal. I used Holley washers if I remember correctly.
So the steel holley washers ended up working? Ive tried the crap plastic washers it came with and some other off the shelf fuel fitting washers the bozo's at autozone reccomended, and I think they leaked worse.
