I've written a two part article on the 1978 Pace Car. Part 1 is here and Part 2 is here. Please take a look when you get a chance.

Thanks.

Good article. When I was looking for a 78 or 79 Corvette last year I came across an L82 4 speed pace car priced at $17000. I really liked the thought of a 78 or 79 with a silver interior but it was going to cost another $4000 to go look at it and bring it home and I didn't want to spend that kind of money on a car. I bought my 79 for $12000 close to home, sometimes I still wonder if I should have bought the pace car instead, it would have had more collectabillity, but then I think if I really want the silver interior I can buy pretty much every interior piece there is new for my 79 for roughly $4000 and still be at least $5000 or more ahead given that I could likely sell my mint oyster interior for something. If I would have bought the pace car I was still planning on painting it purple or hot pink but I would have felt a little conflicted about taking away the originality of such a car.

Nice job on the articles. They do a good job of telling it like it was and like it is today. I can say that from experience.
