Would there be any adverse effect or condition in installing sending unit in port next to thermostat ?? Fresh rebuilt 350, aluminium heads, knock off air gap intake... Head hole for senders were too small!!

I just had this conversation with Roger @ Corvetteclocks - recently had him rebuild my speedo/tach and purchased his factory correct temp sending unit as well for $20.
Just installed it in my RPM airgap intake - alum heads for me as well - and per our conversation he said it will read within ~10 degrees from normal installed in intake vs cylinder head.
