Default rear mono leaf question

In the process of rebuilding my 76, I purchased a used mono leaf spring from a local corvette restorer shop in my area. I did get a good deal on it, but now I have concerns. What I got was just a spring "refurbashed" it has new rear spring caps in it for the spring shackles, other then that I had to buy new grade 8 bolts to mount it. My concern is looking at pictures of others (forum members) set ups it looks like theres a spacer block between the rear differential and the spring. My question is do all mono springs have the block or is it hit or miss on them? Thanks in advance, Brian

Depends on the spring. Is it an OE spring from an 80-82 or an aftermarket? If OE there are rubber pads. If it's the TRW-designed spring (mine) it has pads and plates top and bottom, and a spacer on top. If it's a VBP spring it also has a pad and spacer on the top. Let me know if you have any other questions.
