...not sure what you mean by net v/s gross hp, Tom. Are you talking flywheel v/s rear wheel hp?
GROSS hp is taken at the flywheel on an engine dyno. The engine uses an open air intake, headers with open exhaust, no emission controls, no alternator, no accessories, etc.

NET hp is also taken at the flwheel on an engine dyno. But the engine is equiped as it would be in the car. Stock air cleaner assembly, stock exhaust manifold running through stock mufflers, all emission controls, alternator, etc. Like I said, as it would be configured in the car.

So Gross is the ultimate hp possable while Net is in the car real world hp.

By the way, factory never rated cars at Rear Wheel HP, that is mostly a speed shop thing.

I'll repeat it, Make sure the frame is solid. rust in and around the rear wheels is the worst as is the windshield frame. You can check the engine numbers fairly easy, it's right at the forward edge of the passenger side head where it meets the block. You can see it looking down from the passenger side fender. But make sure you check the frame, that the biggest headache with any C-3
