Help me identafy this intake
Im trying to find out who the manufacturer of this intake is, and what type of proformance range it was desined for.It is in my 78 with 350 HP rating unknown, duel hollys size unknown,Mallory electronic ignition system, headers with straight pipes ,th350 and 4:10 ring and pinion with 255x60x15 tires. All I truly know is it goes like a bat out H@#! Thanks for any help.
If no identifying marks, I'd guess that it is the 69 Z28 cross-ram manifold. Urban Legend has it that this was one of those 'dealer installed options' that often was delivered to the dealer in the trunk of the car from the factory (if that cross-ram option was checked when ordering the car). How's it perform? Probably an incredible performer above 3000rpm I bet.
This probably isn't the answer you want, but the part number and date stamping will be under the intake which means you'd have to take it off. I just took these pictures of my Offenhauser 360 and Edelbrock Victor Jr, both which have numbers underneath.
I do not know. But it does raise the question of how much is too much? A recent thread spoke to the matter of how large is too large for a Q-Jet. Yet we see this intake (pretty impressive) and think back to 1957-58 when dual quads were used on a 283. Were these engines not over-carb'd? How did they not run rich? Just curious.

Probably an Edelbrock cross ram with 2 Holley 600's if it were an Offy it would have the name stamped on the top. I don't think GM made one for the 350 but they made one for the 302, worth a fortune now. Just my guess but you should hear from the forum experts on this one :D
