Can't open door - now what?
Hi Everyone,
When I bought my 77 vette in Dec the guy told me if I locked the driver door it would not unlock or open unless I pulled back the door panel nead the handle and pushed a certain latch in there with a metal rod. Well, my car was dropped off to be worked on and they must have done something because now it will not open. The rod from the inside handle is now loose and does nothing. I pulled the panel open some and tried everything. When I push on the outside handle I see a part going downward right there but it is not opening.
I can't remove the door panel with the door closed it seems and I can't find a way to make it open. Maybe I can try to get a pic tonight of what I see down through the door panel opening but may not come out too well. Does anyone have any past experience and know a trick to get the door open? I REALLY hate working with the door mechanisms!!!

Thanks, I'll give it a try after work. I know I have a rod that goes in the door somewhere that was left out when i got the car. So it's definately not all together! But I was able to use both inside and outside door handles up until yesterday. I know the inside door handle won't work now until I fix that issue because I see the end of the rod it works just loose inside.
Anything is better than crawling through from the passenger door - I'm not a small person either!!!
