Thanks for your input Jackson. I know for a fact that the last car the motor was in had a long pump setup and that is what my pulleys are for as well. This is not true with the power steering pump as that is Corvette original. I'm curious though why you say swapping out my crank puley and pump pulley to vette pulleys will not let the belt align properly. If my pump is the correct pump for a '77, the steering pump is '77 correct, I will use a bracket for headers and "holeless" heads, and the pulleys are all from a '77 as well, what wouldn't be correct there? I'm not being a smart-*** just wondering if I'm missing something. I also have solved the over heating problem. My issue was having the wrong size hose as GM changed the rad inlet size half way through '77 and I had an early hose and late radiator. The car doesn't overheat at all. I am still going to put the electric fans on it that I have instead of the pump mounted fan. Anyway, let me know if you still think '77 correct pulleys won't do the trick for me and I'll get these spacers instead I guess. -Neal
Because (&Pardon me if I missed something in the morass).... because it seems only now do you specify what pulleys & brackets & pumps you actually have. So ps pump is vette ... is its bracket also vette? Do you have a smog pump/ no?
My point: ALL pumps, pulleys, brackets & accessories must match ... and a long pump config would likely put fan too far into shroud to cool effectively. However, if all your stuff specs to 77 vette dims (with exception of 1 or 2 pulleys) ... then by all means try & solve w/ 1 or 2 pulleys & maybe a shim or 2. FYI, parts stores sell rad hoses with two size ends. G'luck!
