hey everybody, I need to know who makes the best short block for a stoker, money is not an issue, I am thinking of making a 383 or should I go with more cubic inches while I am starting from scratch anyway. thanks.

Go big if money is not an issue A Dart SHP block and build a 400 CID with a Callies rotator ETC. What are you using for heads??
If money is no issue get one from gm. It has a forged steel crank and if you don't like the cast pistons change to forged . Slap some afr 195 heads on it your choice of roller cam and away you go.
I was thinking about a Motown block from world products, how does the stack up against the Dart block?
We tried some World blocks years ago and was not pleased with their product and if we found some problems they would never take their block back, The last one we got was filled with epoxy up to the top of the freeze plugs and the customer did not want and neither did I and they would not take it back!!
We have seen cam tunnel issues, lifter bore placement issues ETC.
We had one in the shop a few months ago to repair the cam tunnel because of a spun bearing.
