potential 80-82 update
Well I stopped by the house last night where the car is parked. It's :sad: poor thing has been very abused. From the road it looked like a potential project. From a few feet away it looked like a total project :( It would need everything and then some. First off the paint is cracked on the plastics (as expected I guess) and keyed up on the hood. The grill plastic's are hanging out. Look into it and the steering wheel is off and it looks like some of the colum is gone. Seats and carpet are history also. If it was just an older driven car I wouldn't mind but this car has been abused for a long time. So I assume all the running gear is also in bad shape. Too bad. I knocked on the door but no one came???

A quick check of the VIN # will tell you right away what year it is. A 1980 will be 1Z878A..... An '81 will have the 10th digit in VIN # As a "B", an '82 the 10th digit in VIN # as a "C".
Yeah, it's sad to see them this way thinking at one time they were brand new gleaming somewhere on a dealer's lot or showroom!!! But, too, it's cars like these that keep usable parts(if they themselves are not restored)keeping "our" cars running!!!
