So it made 404hp on the first pull and 468hp on the last? I assume you made some tuning changes to get the gains...what was the AFR? That through a TH400? Pretty damn good numbers. Assuming a 25% parasitic loss that puts you at 625hp. Maybe more is the loss is a higher %....

Just enough power for a street cruiser...
yep lots of tuning on carb jets timing ect... its through a turbo 400 with a very mild Coan stahl converter "AFR" Air Flow Research Heads" i got talked out of the cam i was going to use and picked something a bit more street able. The dyno operator said i could stand to make a bit more power through a better ignition system, which i agree. but i am very very happy with the way this car moves now.... i have had built a slew of small blocks from 350 up to 406 and they all left me wanting more power.. but this thing is sick>>>> rolling burnout in second at 40 is mph... its on par with what i wanted.... man the adrenaline was through the roof today...
Care to post the engine specs?
What does the fuel system consist of?
What mechanical accessories are you running?
You know that car will probably run high 10s right?

as for the 10's it feels like 10's, i use to run alot at the strip on diffrent cars and street bikes its hard to compare this 496 to a yamaha R1.. it ran mid 10,s
Damn your build up is almost the twin to mine....LOL. I am sure those inserts are probably hurting you some but all in all, you have a great build on your hands.
As for running 10s, the power is there for it. If you can get it to hook and not sling parts, it should run 10s for sure in good air/good DA.
Comparing it to the R1 is tough. That car is gonna leave much harder then the R1 and the 60'/330' will be quicker...from the 1/8 on the R1 will walk it. Pretty much any R1 will trap 140+...it's getting them to 330' that's hard without lowering/strapping and maybe extending the arm.
On the vette, is it the factory 7 blade fan with clutch? What rear gears?
You need to go read my Night at the track thread....I think you will be right there with me...

what ever came stock in a 1975 coupe thats the gears i have.. lol i guess i should check into that ... maybe some could help me... as for the fan it is the only mismatch thing on the car it is a 7 blade GTO fan with a clutch the blades were pitched a little more so i figured that i would get a little more cfm out of that fan... and it moves air quite well its like a mini tornado under the hood... and i never checked out your thread i will search it rate now... how could i miss it? im on corvette forum every day!!!!!!!
did i mention that the dyno.. only set me back 150.00 dollars... he had the car for 3 hrs.. and i helped with pulling out the spark plugs between pulls.. what is the going cost for dyno tuning in other areas. i picked up 64hp for 150bucks.. that's a deal!!
Very cool....
What specifically did you do with the carb tuning? Bigger or smaller jets? Timing, advanced or retard, ?
Also I think its your engine pic I saw, I was wanting to know what type of air cleaner that was? Surprised your able to fit all that muscle under a stock hood.
Nice numbers with a nice engine combination. Nothing compairs to the pull of a healthy BB and the Max Flow incerts sound great. I dynoed my 565 at Carlisle back in 2007 with Hooker max flow inserts and with no inserts and the curves nearly layed on top of each other. I picked up 2 ft-lbs and lost only 7 HP with the inserts in place vs. open headers. (639 ft-lbs, 587 HP open / 641 ft-lbs, 580 HP with max flows). A video of the dyno test is in my signature.
