Default Cylinder Heads

Guys, I'm in need of help once again. I am looking at a pair of 461 "Camel Hump" heads, but need to get an idea of what the compression ratio would be if I were to drop these heads on my stock 74 Vette? Any estimates? I'm looking at a pair of 461 because there's a pair going for $150 right now. I can't afford a pair of aluminum heads right now, so I'm not really interested in aluminum heads right now.

Those are very common heads - lots of dirt-track guys who cannot use aluminum or vortech style heads go with either those or 462's. 150 for a set if they are clean castings is a pretty good deal. They are getting harder and harder to find.

Are they complete or bare castings? Have they been fluxed yet?

I believe those come in either a small or larger valve size depending on what they came out of (like a 2.02/1.60 for the larger or the 1.94/1.50 for the smaller). I know they are 64cc heads. I think they are a 165cfm runner but I could be wrong on that.

For the money though I would go with vortech heads - they flow a LOT better for the cost.

Those don't work. No accessory holes on the front of heads.

Crap, thats right - the camel humps after 68 had the accessory holes though, right? I think those were the 492's.

Good catch 63mako. Looks like I'll have to keep looking.
