Last week while driving the lights flickered a couple times, then all was good. Yesterday I check again an now won't turn on at all. The driving lights, tail lights and gauges all work great. The headlights raise fine also. I saw in the manual no fuse present for headlights but a built in circuit breaker in the switch assy. Where is the best place to start to look. How do you get the light switch out? Looks to be a pain in ***. Any help would be appreciated. Al
Check to see if you have power to the dimmer switch. Also the headlights are protected by a fusible link,if it burns you wont have power to the HL switch.
I ran into the same thing just yesterday morning.... 1981. It's a conspiracy I tell you! I just posted the same question moments ago. Been digging around for an answer. Did you get it corrected?

I did find the problem. The output 12+ wire for the lights was broken. I believe it was a yellow wire. On top of the switch. Did not look to be burnt just broken. I followed the directions from wilcox to remove the switch. That was a little tricky but not hard. Once I had the duct work and switch out, trouble shooting was easy. Al
Glad you got it fixed. Sorry for the lack of clarity in my above post but the dimmer I was referring to was the high low beam dimmer switch, its easier to check the yellow for power at the dimmer switch than at the HL switch, (but in your case you would have had to go to the switch anyway).
