Air Filter Clearance Problem
OK I got the C3 about a week ago and noticed that it didn't have an air filter. I figured that it wouldn't be a big deal... I'd just pick one up at Pep Boys and be done with it. Unfortunatly the 454 seems to have created some clearance issues and none of the filter housing they had at Pep Boys would fit under the hood. I have an Edelbroke Carb and Intake, and "Turbo" hood. What I'm thinking about doing is cutting out the intake type slots in the hood and fabricating some type of piping that would go from the hood to the carb. Then I would place a flat K&N filter somewhere in between the hood and the carb. If you have no idea what kind of hood I'm talking about, here is a link to pics of my C3 http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=254157 . I have a feeling this might be a lot of work, so if anyone has any suggestions let me know. Your advice would be apreciated :).
