Driveshaft loop on C3's ?
Is it possible to install a Lakewood drive shaft loop on our cars for protection? What does it bolt to, the frame? Don't want my driveshaft to take a @#@$ and fall off or rip up the bottom of the car!

Given that the shaft is fairly captive in there, do you really need one?
If the front U joint broke the shaft end will be kept above the crossmember, I think, so you're not going to have it spear down into the road and cause that kind of havok. If the rear joint goes the shaft is held above the frame dip back there.
Is the shaft likely to turn into a wild and dangerous fan with the tranny tunnel keeping it generally in place? Can't say I have any experience with driveshaft failure, though I have broken half shaft U-joints.

I have one on my drive shaft and untill I built my 6 link this winter had 2 on each half shaft. Mine is bolted through the floor with 8 5/16 bolts welded to two plates under the carpet, seat.
Mine is made of aluminum and shows in this picture.
