I have a 100% stock 76 and would like to begin upgrading its performance without changing the look to much, i also have rotted floor boards and need some advice on the best way to replace that, it's beyond repair. I have a million questions and am willing to listen to every input so please be descriptive.
All the aftermarket providers carry replacement floor pans. You will want the assembly instruction manual for certain and possibly the chassis service manual before you jump into replacing the floor pans.
If your car is otherwise stock, my advice is to leave it that way. Unmodified C3s are getting harder to find every day.

The power can be raised by opening up the exhaust w/ hi flow mufflers (& cat), duals & headers.
See what many refer to as my Exhaust topic. http://www.corvettefaq.com/c3/ganeyexhaust.htm
Tuning & Timing are basic & should go w/o saying.
L-48 would also need more cam!
Al. intake rec.!
Thx for the advice, how could i measure the back pressure on my exhaust, and if it as large as your example shows, could i change it all the way up to the motor witout removing the engine?, i have all the shop parts i need except extra hands and time of course, so a lift is definately an option.
On my 76, also stock, I just fiberglassed over the holes in the metal floor pan. I cleaned and painted the metal first on both sides, fiberglass on the inside and then put in insulation (looks like windshield sun screen) from Lowes.
I do not know how bad your floor pans are.
Agree with above post, stock C3's are best left stock. If you want to modify one, get one that does not have the original engine. My two cents!
