driving without hood?
I'll hopefully have my car done by about 3:00 tomarrow, but the hood won't go back on until 5:00 at the soonest...are there laws aginst driving with no hood? I want to take it for a shake down run and I need a "fix" ASAP. :jester

One way to find out? there isn't any law against it in Texas, had a friend that I used to go cruisin with in his 69 Nova with the hood off to show off the big chrome stack that wouldn't fit with the hood on, we got harassed by the cops on many occasions, but he never got ticketed for having the hood off.

I'm almost certain that you are not aloud to drive without a hood. However, that did not stop me after I got my cam installed and my engine tuned. I should also point out that I live in a small town so nobody really cares.

You know what I say, its always better to ask for forgivness than permission. And if you get caught put your "GOLLY I DIDN'T KNOW" look on. Any how if the cops a red blooded american he'll kwow how important shake down runs are.....(and how much fun they are).

but cops here hate me...because of their red-blood americanism...they don't think I can afford the vette...jealousy kicks in, and i get pulled for having one hand on the wheel...

North Carolina?? Ah yes, thats Mayberry teritory. If ya do get caught maybe you can call in a favor from Thelma lou or even Miss Crump possibly? But for Gods sake drop and spred eagle if ya see Barny reachin in his pocket!!!!
