Default Window Adjustment

I was looking in the manual about adjusting the window. The front of the window sits great with the a-piller but the back of the window doesn't touch the rubber. I need to tilt it inward.. Anyway the manual said to loosen bolts D and G.. adjust and retighten.. I know my eyes are going bad but I couldn't find G in the diagram. D is on top of the door panel and looks pretty easy to find.. Where is G? Again.. anyone have any words of wisdom before I take my door apart?

Steve I don't have my book in front of me but if I remember right they should be in the middle of the door and near where the bottom of the window track is. Tightening or loosening will move the track either inboard or outboard. Window adjustments are a real pain in the butt. One thing that I did find out though, you can't adjust the window correctly if the door itself is slightly out of adjustment as well. Check all of your reveal lines and see if they are equal. Also open the door and close it so that the strike bolt and strike catch on the door are just touching. Look at the top of the door (by the handle) and the top of the rear fender. Make sure that the 2 planes are level. If the door side has a bit of a drop down to it, the door has sagged and the hinges need adjusting. That will make for a bit of an easier window adjustment.
Worked for me anyway :D

Two suggestions: First, don't worry too much about the diagram. One you're in there, if you have a reasonable amount of mechanical aptitude, it will be fairly obvious what you need to turn. More important, don't be afraid to elongate some of the adjusting slots to get the window where it needs to go. This might not be necessary with a 100% original car, but many of the reproduction parts are different enough that a little more range is needed. If you are patient, you can get everything to seal up the way it should.
