Do I need valve cover drippers?
Im building a 454 with a xe268h cam ,valve lift is .515 .520 with 911 springs, 3/8 push rods and guide plates. I also have the magnum roller tip rocker arms. These rocker arms look like the oil hole is pointing up compared to the oil hole pointing down on the stock rocker arm. My question is do I need valve covers with drippers or can I use a set without drippers? Im also using a high volume oil pump. I cant imagine these rockers not getting enough oil. I know in 73 they quit putting drippers on big block vettes but they only had about .410 lift.

If your running slotted rocker arm "*****" I don't think the drippers will make that big of a difference. You should be sure and put some assembly lube on the rocker ***** if your installing them for the 1st time.

Im using the slotted rocker ***** that come with the rocker arms and I also covered the ***** and arms with comp cams molly lubricant. I have read a couple of threads where these rocker ***** turned blue from to much heat. Im not sure what kind of lift and spring pressure they were using and the reply back was they needed drippers. I just wonder if they were using some clogged old push rods that was not flowing the right amount of oil. When I prime the oil pump oil is pouring out onto the rocker arm, thats why I dont see drippers making that much if any difference. Thanks for the reply
