So i've been following the forums for a month or so, learning from those of you who are much more knowledgable than myself and i've come up with a few ideas. I'm looking for 300 - 350 hp out of my stock '76 L-48 and this is what i have come up with

To start: keep in mind all of this is open to suggestion if you know a setup that will work out better

Block bored .030 over
Pistons H618CP30 +3.5
Cam shaft/lifters p/n sum-K1103
Headers SUM-G9003
Head Gasket felpro p/n 1094

most likely will recurve timing

stock heads(possibly port) and intake

I am open to suggestions if you think this may or may not work. I have considered vortec heads and a vortec style intake but not sure if it would create more or less power. Let me know what you guys think

You should really think about going with a pair of AFR aluminum heads. Get rid of those old anchors.

My 355 is 9.5-1 compression hyperutectic pistons, dual pattern comp hydraulic cam. We used reworked 882 truck heads, 1.94 int and 1.60exh valves rpm intake and eddy carb. 340 hp 390 tq.

Should add, no need putting on an expensive aluminum head that will flow more air than what the engine needs and will not give you the results you want. Just my .02 Easy to get what you need out of stock cast heads.
