If you have Delco calipers the discount auto store will not give you what they are worth in exchange for the core charge and the new or rebuilt caliper are most likely not Delco. If you go to buy Delco from any (or most) vendors they will not accept anything but Delco for a core. In short if you change from Delco to anything else and want to go back to Delco it will cost you about $200 in a core charge. There are supporting vendors here that sell rebuilt Delco at very competitive prices. If your calipers are not Delco then it really does not matter.
Just my thoughts

IF you really want cost effective, you can get a caliper rebuild kit from most auto parts stores for under $15 a piece. If you need to, you can get a hone to clean up the bores.

I rebuilt 3 out of 4 for less than $45 and would have done the 4th but a bleeder broke off in it. Five years and no leaks.

I'm pretty sure these are not SS sleeved, as the bores look like iron.

Whats the cheapest route to get SS sleeved calipers?

Its hard to tell from your pic but it appears the fluid holes at the bottom are partially covered which would mean they have been sleeved. (Some of the earlier sleeving company's went down too far.)Polish them up a little , I don't see any pitting.

SOO are they SS sleeved??????

Even if they aren't can I have someone just polish these up to work?

Can I buy an O-ring conversion kit?

I tried to take better pictures:
All the gunk in them is hard and above the surface level of the walls. I tried taking more out but I figured this would be fine for now.

(I enhanced them to make them clearer from my camera phone)

I honestly can't tell but now I'm leaning towards no sleeves. Some of these other guys with better eyes will be able see.
I've never had to use a magnet but you could try one and see if you can feel a difference in the surfaces. Most SS is not magnetic and the sleeve would be thin so the magnet might be pulled through the sleeve into the cast iron.

Thanks, I'll try the magnet. I just tried it, the magnet does pull on the walls, but maybe its because of the iron just beneath?

But if anyone else would chime in

Try feeling for a line between what would be the liner and the casting. A straight pin bend at 90 degrees wouldl make a good probe.

So what you are saying is an edge between the sides and the center of 90 degrees, for visual purposes and my lack on knowledge: a cliff from where the shiny part ends and the dark rough part begins in the middle of the bore.

Basically from my understanding of what you recommend, the shiny part ends in the middle and does step down into the rough middle part at what could be a 90 degree angle, but its a very small step down.

It's really hard to tell by that pic... you're going to have to look at it and decide if it's sleeved. Or take it to someone to look at it.

Sleeved calipers have a bore lined with SS - plain calipers have the cast iron bore.

I have to vote against O-ring calipers. I got My rebuild kit and original type seals from Duntov Motors and I followed their advice against O-ring calipers.

While that all looks good on paper, thousands of C3 owners have switched to O-ring calipers and I've not seen anyone on the forum ever complain about them - ever.

So I don't have SS calipers right?
